Forbes ranked him as the world's most powerful celebrity in 2006.He has been nominated for three Academy Awards and he has won the Golden Globe Award.His first leading role in a blockbuster movie was 1983's Risky Business.After that, he starred in many top films and became an iconic celebrity of Hollywood.
Cruise is also known for his support of Scientology and his related criticism of psychiatry, which has attracted significant controversy.
